Looking for a crossing from Seychelles to Tanzania!
Hello!
My name is Max and I am currently in the Seychelles, after a beautiful journey by sea from Phuket, Thailand, started at the end of January. After many months at sea, I now find myself in the Seychelles, hoping to find a boat to take me on for the last leg to fulfill my dream of reaching Tanzania by boat!
Not only did I decide to take on the journey from Thailand to Tanzania because it just simply sounds beautiful, but at the end of August my friend is getting married in Zanzibar, and I would love to make it there by boat, and be reunited with my friends after 2 years of traveling around Asia.
I have been traveling, living, and working all over the world for the last years. I like to explore different ways of traveling - I used to spend all my summers hitchhiking around Europe, I traveled by wooden fisherboat in the Amazon for a few weeks, bought a bicycle in Thailand last year and discovered the beauty of bikepacking, and most recently, discovered sailing and the ocean!
In July 2025 I joined a beautiful sailboat and crew sailing around Malaysian Borneo and spent two months on the water. I loved it! The stories I heard from ocean crossings touched me and a dream started to grow... And became reality! I crossed from Thailand to Sri Lanka to the Maldives and to Seychelles by boat. I am definitely still learning, but after around 4500nm and reading all the sailing books I could find on the boats I was on, I can say I can be helpful around a boat.
I'd be happy to help with anything - cleaning, cooking, taking care of children... and of course, be as much involved as possible in everything related to sailing. I really want to continue learning and would love to be part of a nice crew. I am easygoing, open, flexible, and really value honesty and open communication while being part of a crew.
I have a background in Journalism, enjoy storytelling, writing articles, and made a few small documentaries. I enjoy being creative, good conversations, and good books, though I think I enjoy most things, as I am very curious and always want to give everything a try.
