Deckhand and maintenance crew available, Ionian experience, June 2026
Hi, I’m Tom, 39, from London. I’m making a serious transition into a sailing career with the long term goal of becoming a skipper.
I’ve just completed two weeks with an RYA Yachtmaster on a 50ft catamaran in Greece, a week of full boat prep and refit followed by 10 days sailing the Ionian. I’m familiar with handling lines, trimming sails, taking watches and helming in variable conditions. I’m also familiar with basic boat systems having assisted with engine checks, rigging, antifouling, watermaker servicing and general maintenance during the prep week.
I hold STCW, ENG1, RYA VHF/SRC, RYA Powerboat Level 2 and RYA Diesel Engine. My background is carpentry and set building so I’m genuinely useful when things need attention on board. I’ve spent years in hospitality so I’m easy to live with and good in close quarters.
I work hard, take direction well and I’m not looking for a holiday. Available mid June onward. Mediterranean based, open to other locations.
