Dutch Sailor Looking for Offshore Adventures & Ocean Crossings
Hi! I’m Sander from the Netherlands.
I’m looking for opportunities to join a sailing yacht as competent crew for longer passages, offshore sailing and possibly ocean crossings.
I own and sail my own 30-foot sailing yacht in the Netherlands and have practical sailing and boating experience. I also have extensive experience at sea through my professional background, including three deployments sailing along the East African coast and around the Horn of Africa, covering approximately 6,000 nautical miles within a three-month period.
My professional background includes 21 years with the Dutch Marine Corps. This has given me extensive experience working in teams, operating in demanding environments, safety, responsibility and staying calm when circumstances become challenging.
I’m practical, hands-on and happy to help with watches, sailing, maintenance, cooking and the everyday jobs that come with life aboard. I’m physically fit, easy-going and enjoy meeting and working with new people.
My main goal is to gain more offshore sailing experience, learn from experienced sailors and contribute as a reliable member of the crew. I’m particularly interested in longer passages, ocean crossings and sailing to new parts of the world.
I’m not looking to simply be a passenger — I want to be part of the crew and contribute.
