Ready now – Australia → Indonesia / Pacific | Flexible & keen to learn
Hi! I’m Carla, originally from Spain and currently in Cairns, Australia. I’m looking to join a boat **leaving Australia this October**. I’m very flexible with the destination — Indonesia, PNG, Pacific Islands or wherever you’re heading — and I’m happy to travel to Darwin, the Whitsundays or elsewhere in Australia for the right opportunity.
I grew up around boats. From childhood until 18, I spent around two months every summer living aboard my dad’s 9m motorboat. I got my **Spanish skipper’s licence at 18** and continued taking the boat out with friends. My experience is mainly with motorboats rather than sailing, so I’m a beginner sailor, but I’m very comfortable at sea and living aboard for extended periods.
I’m strong, practical, adaptable and a quick learner. I’m happy to help with watches, cooking, cleaning, anchoring, maintenance and whatever needs doing onboard.
A little about me: I trained as a physiotherapist and osteopath, but left that career to travel the world. I’m now a professional skydiver and fire performer.
I’m not looking for a paid job — I’m looking for a genuine sailing/hitchhiking adventure, to learn, contribute and experience life at sea again. I’m financially independent and happy to contribute to reasonable onboard expenses.
