About Me
Hi, I’m Diogenes, a 23-year-old Panamanian with a strong passion for the ocean, sailing, and life at sea.
I have practical experience navigating the Pacific Ocean, with approximately 600 hours aboard a vessel close to 50 meters in length. This experience has given me a genuine appreciation for life onboard, teamwork, navigation, safety, and the responsibilities that come with being at sea.
I’m particularly interested in sailing and learning about different types of sailing vessels, their propulsion systems, engines, and how they operate. I enjoy learning from experienced crew members and developing practical skills onboard.
I am currently looking for opportunities to join a vessel departing from or embarking in Europe, Turkey, or Greece, while remaining open to sailing to other destinations worldwide. I am interested in both short-term and longer-term opportunities where I can contribute, learn, and gain more experience at sea.
I am also currently studying Biotechnology, with a growing interest in combining my academic background with my passion for the marine environment. In the future, I would like to explore areas such as marine biotechnology, marine microorganisms, marine ecosystems, conservation, environmental sustainability, and biotechnology applied to the ocean.
I hold a U.S. Crew Visa and am a Panamanian citizen. I’m adaptable, curious, responsible, and comfortable working as part of a multicultural team.
For me, being at sea is not simply about traveling from one place to another. It is about learning, discovering new places, working with people from different backgrounds, understanding vessels and the ocean, and continuously developing my skills.
Currently looking to embark from Europe, Turkey, or Greece, with the flexibility to sail to destinations worldwide.
