Adventurous, experienced ocean lover looking for a new sailing adventure 2027 - Pacific, Louisiades, Raja Ampat...

Looking for my next ocean adventure.
This year - 2026 - I sailed the Malacca Straits the cruised from Sri Lanka to the Maldives and Seychelles.
Last year - 2025 - i crewed Panama to Rapa Nui/Easter Is.
In Feb, 2023 - i sailed from Panama via French Polynesia then onto the Cook Islands, Nuie, Tonga, Fiji and New Caledonia back to Australia. In 2014, I spent 9 months cruising Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomons, PNG and Palau then in 2015 i spent 9 months in the Philippines caretaking a Robert's 53.
I have had over a decade of working on professional fishing boats, i completed a boat building apprenticeship, and have just generally spent most of my working life around boats and the waterfront - tall ships, port linesman, charter boats... The ocean is my life.
I know how to be on a boat, love being part of a crew committed to providing a positive contribution to the well being of others on board and the smooth running of the boat. I like to explore, hang out with the locals, swim, snorkel, hike and sail. I can stand watches, be an extra set of eyes, help with provisioning and stores, keep your boat organised, help research and organise permits and visas, be good company, laugh, have fun and just generally take every opportunity the cruising lifestyle provides. I have island girl skills, can drive a dinghy and play an island ukelele (badly).

Q&A

10

Q: What’s your favourite boating experience? Long passages, swimming, snorkelling, diving, contributing to the boat - cameraderie, adventure, teamwork...

Q: What’s your worst boating experience? Being robbed in PNG - but it wasn't so bad.

Q: How long have you been boating and what made you start? Messed around in boats as a kid ~ worked as a commercial fisherman. Did a delivery job to Nigeria and met up with yachts on Cocos Island. The concept of a boat set up for fun and not having to spend every waking moment working - I was hooked!

Q: What are your sailing ambitions? What’s the next challenge? Find opportunities to cruise more remote and out of the way places off the beaten track. I want to continue to learn as much as I can to be a better sailor. And it would be nice to meet that special person.

Q: Where’s your favourite boating destination? Palau was amazing - and I LOVE exploring tbe Pacific. The Indian Ocea also has some awesome boating destinations.

Q: What is your favourite boat and why? Small and simple - love living off the grid.

Q: What is the longest passage you’ve completed without stops? When I was a commercial fisherman we would be at sea for up to 4 months.

Q: What’s your funniest experience? Stranded up in the rigging - long story lol

Q: What is it about being on the water that makes you tick? My love of the ocean and the commitment you must make to her.

Q: Gin and Tonic in a beautiful anchorage or trimming the sails to get an extra half knot? Anchorage

Exceptional crew

Sherrin joined from Panama. 46 day crossing to Nuku Hiva. Very helpful. Knowledgable of yacht sailing requirements. Delightful nature. Confident on night watches. Keeps superb chart plot. Clean and tidy. Highly recommend as a crew on any boat. Would have continued with me, but my plans have changed. Simon
